MR... Frist thing that comes to my mind when I see her - "She'll now scold me, for something." I reckon, that someone very dear to her (read 'Mr. Bechara') might be thinking the same.
Ok, I was kidding.. Ok M. R.?
Anyways, I remember the day - Saturday (sorry, I forgot the date), not because it was a holiday, but because no one else, I knew came down from Pune to Mumbai on a Friday night, to get married the next morning! That's M.R. !
So, on the D-Day, here I was, standing at the train door, looking for Mr. Bechara, who was to board the train on which I was positioned, for his marriage! I met him, and started trying what I always do... tried convincing him, what I tried to convince M. R. , the previous day, in the train - Wear Traditional Wear! But Miya Biwi Raazi to Kya karega Manavji... both were impossible! Atleast, the significant thing was - I was wearing a shirt!
Finally train arrived at Bandra, we both got down, and found Ashutosh, Krunal, his wife - Rashmi, and M. R. @ Bandra Vakil khaana.. :). Rashmi was looking beautiful that day. An embarassing moment came when all of us, were talking in a circle, and a vakeel approached us, and asked me and Rashmi, whether we wanted to get married! Ahem! Shaadi kisi aur ki and dulha koi aur!
Then, we finally manged to find the advocate, who was walking us to the court marriage hall. M. R.'s mom and dad joined us on the way. I remember very distinctively M. R. brought a few bananas, a few chikoos, and dry fruits! It wasn't funny, until we all saw M. R. feeding it to Mr. Bechara on the way. Bechara! It seemed he couldn't take it! But he had to gulp it down the throat... :) We, all were giggling while walking carefully and silently behind them! Shhh.. M doesn't know about it yet! Then it was water time. Both M and Mr. Bechara, took out their respective bottles from their respective bags... a rule I guess... and guess what... both were exactly the same steel bottles! And man... we rofloled.. :)
While Mr. Bechara and M were doing all the necessary rituals (no sindoor, mangalsutra, phool, etc.., but filling up some forms, etc ), me, Krunal and Rashmi sneaked off for a nice breakfast! Kokam Sharbat was good! Then, it was time, ki "Muh meetha to karna padega" style and hence, we hunted for sweets, and headed back to the court, as if we were always there for them...
After standing in a queue for about 40-45minutes, and a lot of dhakaa-maari, more than in a Mumbai Local Train, M, Mr. B, Ashutosh, M's mom, dad came out, as if the final graduation examination was over! We presented them with the sweets, and clicked a few photographs. After M's mom cracked a joke on Mr. B, we all heard Mr. B's dialog - "Kya Aunty.. Kya Aunty.. Aap bhi aisa karoge.. "
Well, they got married, represented a moment of significance, so treating us, at TAWA, Bandra would be the least they could do, and so they did :) Well, I have to confess... I tricked/forced/hypnotized them to treat us. We headed to the restaurant, and grabbed our seats. Rashmi, sat in between me and Krunal. While Krunal was silent and dressed like a perfect lukha, M's mom cracked a joke that me and Rashmi are looking more like a couple... :D!
Rashmi didn't talk to me for the next 10min :P
Also, I asked M's mom, that why she didn't force M to wear traditional dress, on which M's mom sushed me, and said - "Shhhh... Ye bhi pehena hai woh badi baaat hai..."! I silently went back to my plate. It was a perfect meal! But naah... marriage celebration didn't end over there. The bacha party headed directly to Bandra G7 theater, where we watched the movie '99'. We enjoyed the typical styled G7 ice-cream cone in the interval.
Even after the movie, the couple didn't want us to leave them alone, and hence myself and Ashutosh had to give them company to the Bandra Bandstand. Ashutosh didn't buy my idea of sneaking off, to give them some privacy, as he was too afraid of M.R.ji.. :D
We walked to the Bandstand, spent a few minutes sitting on the rocks, enjoying the sunset. We ended up discussing a lot about Ashutosh's girl friend, is what I faintly remember. Naah.. the celebration still didn't end... We headed back to the KOBE's sizzlers, and ordered 2 sizzlers. One of them was named - "Wagha Mama".
We then walked to the Bandra Worli Sea-Link view, and enjoyed the marvel too. Yes, and we discussed about Mr. Bechara forgetting everything, but remembering the footballer's gf names.. :)
The day was splendid! A day, worth spent! This is what I faintly remember, and these faint memories seems to be the only gift, that I can give the couple, as of now... :)
"Stay close! And stay strong guys!" is my message to them. Rest, M. R. will manage... :)
P.S.: It seemed like Saathiya scene to me, when M. R. back to her home at Mulund, and I brought back Mr. Bechara via the Borivali Train from Bandra.... :P

We call this guy, Rickshawala!
We call this guy - Rickshawala! A computer engineer, would be a wrong introduction, but so would be a Mumbaitee, or a master planner of events, or Mr. Betting, or Mr. Stock Market or Mr. Money Maker or Mr. Himesh Fan or Mr. Indonesia! We called this guy - Rickshawala!
The first time I saw this guy, he looked cunning, and wicked to me. "Why can't you move me to the project, same as my friend ? There are so many people here, who can move to my project willingly!!!! For eg: (points at S**a*) This guy's ready" was the first time, I heard this guy speak, and there was dead laughter all around... :)! Termed rightly as "Notorious batch ever", by Mrs. Training Head, there were a lot of things childish, kiddish about our batch. But those were the best days of our lives, undoubtedly!
Being in the same project, a series of events unfolded, and I don't exactly remember how and why, but I was suddenly hunting a house @ Magarpatta on 02nd Oct 2007 with him, when we decided on one! I first realized that he wasn't that bad as he looked, when he very willingly accepted the fact that it will be him, who will sleep on the floor. Wow, that was a relief! Didn't want to leave the king size bed.
Living with him @work and @home, I realized that this guy had two goals back then:
1. Getting Married.
2. Making Money.
Ok, the order might not be what it seems! But his life worked in the mentioned order.
I remember a lot of things, which we did together. Its a long list, but we could summarize it to cursing managers, (he) talking a lot abut cricket, (he) talking a lot about stocks, (he) quietly eating what's available from Mr. Chef's special, (he) cleaning up the plates (well, only sometimes), watching movies, a lot of night walkouts, a lot of use(less/full) talks, sneaking to Mumbai every weekend, a lot of TV (includes watching Mrs. Shrimati Game show, when there was no cable around) and back to cursing managers... Phew! Indeed, a long list! We did a lot of lukhaagiri together!
And of course he loved his nephew, Dev. And still does. Well, his one inspiration or encouragement, which still kept him going back to Mumbai.
Discussing with the Group Leader then, and that too, at the Project Event in Goa, and @12 in the night while seating at Calangute beach, with 10 others around, he talked about his *marriage* doubts! Stupid, and an idiot indeed!
But he finally did it, he achieved his first goal - he got married! Things changed around him so much, that we used to wonder, how could marriage change a person sooo very much! We started calling him *taxi* for a while, for an upgrade!
The way he balanced his marriage, the work load, and the expenses were commendable! Not to mention, that he was *the best* man @home and @work, as well!
When I see back then, he wasn't the perfect guy! Well, no one is! But he was an idiot, a real idiot! Not that, I wasn't in the competition. But a nice guy, on the inside.
I still remember our first ever meeting with the then Lead of the project, I was astonished when his only question was about how and when could he relocate to a phoren country? Work, no bar, work hours no bar, just relocate him somewhere, and get him money... And today, he would just be landing to Indonesia, while I click this "Publish Post" button, to work there for a couple of years, to achieve his next goal in life!
P.S.: Rickshawale, I still owe you a gift for our bet. Its still on my mind! But its not going to be anywhere soon, till then Iss post se kaam chalaa....
